DALLAS – Following a pair of strong performances against NM State and UTEP, Middle Tennessee center Anastasiia Boldyreva was named the Conference USA Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Boldyreva, a senior from Moscow, Russia, picked up her sixth career weekly accolade and second of the season – she was previously named Player of the Week twice in 2023-24 and Freshman of the Week twice in 2021-22.
The 6-7 center tallied a season-high 27 points, eight boards and five blocks in MTSU's 66-59 overtime win over NM State. She went 11-of-18 from the field (61.1 percent) and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe down the stretch and tallied eight of the Blue Raiders' 12 points in overtime to secure the victory. She played all 45 minutes of action – a new career-high
She followed that performance up with 12 points, nine rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist in MTSU's 64-42 rout over UTEP, where she went 5-of-9 from the field (55.6 percent) and 2-of-2 from the free throw line.
Boldyreva is averaging 16.6 points per game in CUSA, most among post players, and 11.4 rebounds per game. She is one of two players in CUSA averaging a double-double. Boldyreva also leads the league and ranks second in the Nation in Blocks with 71. The reigning CUSA Defensive Player of the Year has played a significant role in the Blue Raiders having the Nation's No. 1 defense in terms of opponent field goal percentage - holding teams to just 33.1 percent shooting.
