Charlene Ann Taylor, age 79, of Shelbyville, passed from this life Saturday, February 24, 2024, after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident.
A Memorial Service will be 2 PM Sunday, March 3, 2024, at First United Methodist Church. Reverend Abe Zimmerman will officiate.
The family will receive visitors 1 PM until service time Sunday at the church.
She was born September 9, 1944, in Cincinnati, to the late Omage and Bessie Evelyn Blair Hammond. She was retired from Calsonic, and a faithful and very active member of First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Trace Handy, and sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Feck, Martha Cash, and her husband Eugene, and a brother, Allen Hammond.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Taylor; children, Brad Handy, Barabara (Jim) Newsom, Terry (Kay) Handy, Sandra (Pete) Sadler, Meridith (Rob) Miller; sisters, Darlene Arlinghaus, and her husband Jim, Sue Marshall, and her husband Rob, daughter in law, Barbara Handy; grandchildren, Josh Brandon, Daniel Brandon, Andrew Brandon, James (Johnna) Handy, Jonathan Handy, Justin (Wendy) Handy, Dylan Burks, Brandi (Billy) Bunn, Michelle (Eric) Handy, Dylan Handy, Jessica James Tomlin, Elijah (Mikayla) James, and Zach James; thirteen great grandchildren.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
