City/County Celebrating Christmas, Big Time, This Weekend!

The Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the second annual Bedford County Christmas on Friday, December 5th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on the Historic Shelbyville Square. Evening festivities Include: a live performance by Hannah Nicolaisen (American Idol Top 20, Season 21), photos with Santa, live reindeer, Disney characters and superheroes, The Mid-State Cloggers, a live nativity presented by Shelbyville First United Methodist Church, the lighting of the courthouse and Christmas tree and fireworks! Special features include a Lowe's of Shelbyville Build-A-Toy Workshop, merchants open on the square, special activities, and activities by non-profits. Various vendors will be available.


THE 52ND ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARADE
Theme: Christmas Around the World. Saturday Dec. 6 at 4:00 p.m. (Rain Date: TBD.) Only one Santa is permitted in the parade
• Tossing candy is not permitted by anyone but Santa due to safety issues-You may walk beside your float and hand children candy
• NO ATV's- 4 Wheelers are allowed only if pulling trailer • 40 ft Max- Includes truck & trailer
• Vehicle Burnouts are prohibited
• NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL PERMITTED


SPECIAL CHRISTMAS PROGRAMS AT FUMC-S
First United Methodist Church on the square will sponsor a live nativity on Friday, Dec. 5, from 5 to 6 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m., a children’s musical, “Good News Flash” will be presented. Featured singers include the Wesley Warriors and J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) choirs.

A VERY NORMANDY CHRISTMAS
A Very Normandy Christmas will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, from 1 to 6 p.m. Activities include food trucks, Santa, a food drive event and a tree lighting ceremony.

OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS IN BELL BUCKLE
The old-fashioned Christmas in Bell Buckle is planned for Dec. 6, 13 and 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sleigh rides, carolers and more! The annual pet parade is at noon on Dec. 6.
