Cynthia Campbell Ferrell, age 79, of Shelbyville, TN, passed away July 15, 2025.
She was born July 25, 1945, to the late Frank and Joye (Pitts) Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Doak
Howell Funeral Home with visitation from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025.
She graduated from Martin High School in 1963. She moved to Shelbyville where she met her husband Charles and got married in 1964.
She worked at several local businesses including Payne & White Realty, Tyson
Foods, Dr. Sam Pearce, and Dr. Dale Hasty. She also sold Mary Kay cosmetics for 15 years. She was a member of the Shelby Chapter of the Daughters of the
American Revolution, serving as regent from 2013 to 2015. She was a devout
member of the Eastside Church of Christ.
Cynthia loved to entertain family and friends, but especially her grandchildren.
She had a green thumb and could grow almost anything. She was a very talented crafter, specializing in needlepoint and knitting. She enjoyed playing Liverpool rummy with friends and family and passed along the thrill of playing to many others.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles W. Ferrell of Shelbyville, TN; her sons, Jason C. Ferrell of Shelbyville, TN, and Derek S. (Jill) Ferrell of Gallatin, TN; her daughter, Rhonda J. (Bryce) Stanfield of Murfreesboro, TN; her brother, Tim (Glynda) Campbell of Dyersburg, TN; her sister, Tracey (Danny) Armstrong of Rives, TN; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nephews, and 1 niece.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Monroe
Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, or the Eastside Church of Christ.
The family extends a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their help and
support during Cynthia’s final days.
