Dorothy Cast Allison, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on October 25, 1937, in Lawton, Oklahoma, Dorothy was a vibrant spirit whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 60 years, Vernon Allison; sister Glenda Hurst; and her beloved granddaughter, Krista Foster. She leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Mark Allison; her daughter, Susan Allison; as well as her treasured grandchildren, and her treasured great grandchildren, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
A proud native of Lawton, Oklahoma, Dorothy found her second home in Arizona, a place she loved dearly. She dedicated several years of her professional life to Honeywell, where she was known for her exceptional work ethic and unwavering dedication.
After retiring, Dorothy along with her beloved husband moved to Shelbyville, Tn., to be closer to their son and daughter-in-law’s family. She also was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ.
Dorothy's legacy is one of love, resilience, joy and community. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, infectious laughter, love, and the countless memories she created with her family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Cancer Society that goes towards helping cancer patients in Dorothy's honor.
Dorothy Cast Allison will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
