The Golden Eagles’ offensive struggles continued in a 12-2 loss to visiting Warren County on Thursday afternoon in district play.
Senior Baler Melton claimed the win on the mound in the five inning contest, scattering four hits to four different batters while fanning three with only one walk.
Caden Thomas’ double led Shelbyville Central at the plate.
Eli Kuykendall ripped a double and single while Easton Denning and Will Vance added a pair of singles each.
Marquis Wilson got the start on the bump for the Eagles with relief appearances by Caleb Molder and William Bobo.
