COLUMBIA — Shelbyville Central’s Golden Eaglette softball team suffered a 6-2 loss at Columbia in a non-district matchup on Monday.
Trailing 5-0 going into the top of the sixth inning the Eaglettes scored a pair of runs, including a solo home run by Kaydence Rippy but it was not enough.
Rippy added a single to lead Shelbyville Central at the plate. Jaleigha Harris added two hits.
Bailey Lovell got the win in the circle for Columbia.
Savaiya Morgan, Addison Maurer and Lovell each collected two hits for the winners.
Shelbyville Central plays in the Riverdale Tournament this weekend.
