Giovanni Jacob, 75, of Shelbyville died Saturday, November 21, 2020.
Private graveside services will be held Friday, November 27, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Hillcrest Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born February 5, 1945 in Gorizia, Italy; a retired Aircraft Machinist for Triumph Aero Structure; a member of IAM 735 of Nashville; a member of St. Williams Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was an animal lover who loved the outdoors, working on cars, riding motorcycles, traveling and watching westerns on T.V. He was known to his family and friends as just a great guy.
Giovanni is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marvell Baker Jacob; children, Kenneth M. (Ken) Bargers of Nashville, Mark T. (Lisha) Bargers, Cherrilyn Mikelle (Scott) Horn of Shelbyville; brother and sisters, Italo Jacob of Arlington, Va., Claudia Jacob and Angie Jacob of Gorizia, Italy; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and his special loving dogs, Snoopy, Bell, Angel and Splenda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mario and Norma Jacob.
