Gregory Lynn “Bubba” Tincher, age 72 of Hamilton, Ohio, passed from this life on July 23, 2023 at his residence after an extended illness.

Born on May 10, 1951, in Hamilton, Bubba was the son of the late Estel W. and Glenna M. Barnes Tincher. He grew up in Hamilton, having graduated from Taft High School, class of 1969. After high school, he went on to attend college and play baseball in South Georgia before transferring to Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., where he still holds some collegian records. He was a standout pitcher in baseball both at the high school and collegiate levels.

Bubba worked as a police officer for 10 years in Nashville before moving to Bedford County in the 80s. There he began training horses with his good friend Randall Boyce and later served as an administrator with him for the Bedford County Sheriff’s Department.

In the 90s he started his company, Bubba’s Fencing, that through hard work and dedication, served his community and formed many long-lasting friendships during its 20 year operation. Bubba retired in 2018 due to health concerns.

Bubba was a lover of Western movies, especially John Wayne; deep sea fishing; watching the Braves baseball games; and most of all spending time with his loved ones and friends.

Bubba is survived by his daughter Emily Tincher Burley of Brentwood, Tenn., grandchildren Will and Sophie; his sister Tammy and husband Rocky Chambers,  his brother Larry and wife Debra Tincher of Hamilton, Ohio; nephew Ryan, nieces Tricia, Tara and Kristen, great nieces and nephews Cameron, Lily, Cooper, Braylon, Oakley, Ivy, Addie, Drew and Cal; his Tennessee family Lisa White (loving companion and friend), Fallon (whom he considered his own daughter) and husband Matt Pagello, Dalyce Bird, Landry Pagello, Meredith White and extended family Tony, Matilda, Anthony, Olivia and Timmy.

A celebration of life service officiated by Tony Harris will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home. There will be a visitation held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

We would like to say a special thank you to Camille, Kim, Tracy and Sara at Hospice of Southwest Ohio for taking such excellent and loving care of him during his time of need.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or to the COPD Foundation at www.copdfoundation.org
