Take a look back at when the leaves were green and on the trees.
The George Dickel distillery is almost hidden in Cascade Hollow on highway 269 just outside Normandy in Tullahoma.
It was founded by its namesake in 1878, who built the “whisky’s” (Scottish spelling) distinction by distilling it through the Lincoln County Process. And, originally, Dickel preferred whisky distilled during the winter months, which is why the whisky is chilled before going through a mellow-charcoal filtration today.
The Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. is open Thursday through Saturday 9:30 to 4 p.m. and Sundays 11:30 to 4 p.m. Tours are not available at this time, but the visitor center is open for shopping and tastings.
