Jack Earl Moore, age 69, of Wartrace, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at home under the care of his family and Aveanna Hospice.
Born in Cut Bank, Mont., on November 15, 1953, Jack was the son of the late Vaughn & JoAnn Moore. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Allen Moore.
Jack was a carpenter by trade and worked in construction for many years. He owned and operated Jax Woodworx for the past five years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a medic during the Vietnam War. He was a talented musician and song writer, having played with various iconic country musicians; such as, Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. He also sometimes played during church services. He was a member of Miracle Tabernacle and was one of the founders of Almost Home Ministries. He enjoyed fishing and building hot rods from scratch. He was a family man first and foremost that loved every moment with his loved ones.
He is survived by: loving wife of 43 years, Carol Moore of Wartrace; children, Amos Moore of Wartrace, LJ Whitney of Nevada, Lisa Moore of Montana, Robert (Heather) Moore of Christiana, Roxanne (Dave) Morandi of Nevada, and Layla (Christian) Wade of Oklahoma along with 40 foster children; 16 grandchildren with one great-grandchild on the way; sister, Vonnie (Glen) Prince of Wartrace; niece, Rachel (Chuck) Nicholson; and nephew, Adam (Shannon) Prince.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Moore officiating.
