Larry Bruce Demonbren, age 74, of Shelbyville, passed from this life early Friday morning, November 8, 2024, at his home.
A native of Bedford County, Bruce was born on June 12, 1950, to the late Jimmy Demonbren and Iva Lee McBride Demonbren. Having grown up in Bedford Co. he attended Shelbyville Central High School, graduating class of 1968. He went on to join the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam, and would make a career out of the military retiring honorably at the rank of Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. He also had a career in finance, working with Midstate Finance and retired after many years of employment.
In his free time, Bruce enjoyed a cold Busch beer along with his favorite pastime of watching Bama football games, and loved listening to classic country music.
He is survived by, daughter, Suzy Carlton and husband Dewayne; grandchildren, Dustin Evans, Nina Sobiek, Dylan Carlton, Tristan Carlton, and Lindsey Wingate; and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his best friend, Frank Michaels.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home.vPer Bruce's request, his remains will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered at a later date.
