Dear Editor:

Charles David Sliger missed the paramount rationale of the Tenn3 (with their bull horns). He carried on about the Democrats and what he considers failures to our citizens. Truth is truth as no one is sailing along without crashing waves, yet we have the wherewithal to hang in and survive. However, that is not what the Tenn3 were about- it was about the Republicans in our Tennessee legislature doing NOTHING about the murders of three nine year old children and three adult staff at Nashville Covenant School. Killed/murdered because someone/anyone can buy a killer AR15 war weapon if they are of age and have the money. That is so heinous and vile yet the Tennessee legislators close their ears because they owe their allegiance to the Gun Makers, Gun Dealers and NRA. They have no shame. They attacked Tenn3 to hide their own wrongs. Decorum? Give me a break-do you think for one second Marsh and his cohorts would give the new Reps (Tenn3) an opportunity to enter into a discussion about the necessity to ban AR15’s? Never happen. It’s understood gun collectors own all types of guns, no doubt war weapons, but they are ‘collectors’, not someone out to prove his/her virility. Don’t think for a second that Democrats are saints; they had the House & almost Senate in their control and did not bring forth a bill to ban AR15’s across the nation. This killer weapon must be banned allowing our children, ourselves free from worry about whose next. Why are you, Mr. Sliger, not against that vilest weapon AR15 that destroys the body so that it cannot be mended? You didn’t mention it one time in your ranting. There is absolutely no need for anyone to have an AR15 for protection-with all the different kinds of guns-you cannot defend the AR15 as a proper/necessary owned gun. And then here we are: Marsh said “we’ll kick them out again” (Tenn2 Justins). Marsh, who stresses decorum, has none. Guess lightening would have to strike those comfy leather chairs where Tenn Legislators rest their old, heavy bodies before a possibility to have Tennessee become the first proud state of this nation to ban the AR15’s. Despair? No, not if we have persons like Tenn3 standing up for people and not the NRA. One could hope Governor Lee would call a special session giving attention to the murders at Covenant School knowing AR15’s must be ousted, but then Governor Lee has words-no action most likely believing over time the killings of six people will slide into the past. Too, surprising is that our TIMES-GAZETTE has no editorials. When voices must be heard, editors remain silent. Why? Don’t you have a view about necessary ownership of AR15’s? Defend them or not?
