Lila Elaine Reed Cartwright, 97, of Shelbyville, died February 12, 2024. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 16th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home with Jeff Rasnick officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
She was a native of Bedford County; retired Owner/Operator of Lila's Beauty Shop and a member of First Baptist Church of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Aubrey Kate Young Reed; her husband Benjamin F. "Ben" Cartwright; two sisters, Doris Nichols and Bobbie Jo Stubblefield.
Lila is survived by her children, Karen Smotherman, Kenneth Cartwright of Shelbyville, Kathy (Robert) Philyaw of Signal Mountain, TN.; six grandchildren, Jamie Petty (Margaret), Ben Philyaw (Shelby), Jonathan Smotherman (Ellie), Ashlen Cartwright, Jared Smotherman, Katie Philyaw; two great grandchildren, Woody Petty and Eli Petty.
