Linda Faye Petty Carden, 73, of Shelbyville died Saturday, December 31, 2022.

A Celebration Of Life service will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday, January 4, at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Per her request she will be cremated.

She was born February 20, 1949 in Spencer, was a former store manager of The Pantry and a member of First Christian Church. She loved her children and grandchildren; watching football and loved to travel. She was a four-time survivor of lung cancer.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Flora Simmons Petty; a daughter, Tina Locke; and brothers, Richard Petty and Dan Petty.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Richard) Simmons of Shelbyville, Robert (Anna) Carden of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Terry (Liz) Carden of Fredericksburg, Va.; son-in-law, Earl Locke; eight grandchildren, Paris Huckaba, Kennedy Huckaba, Elya Lopez, Mercedes Lopez, Tyler Carden, T.J. Carden, Parker Carden and Piper Carden; three great-grandchildren, Easton Lopez, Nina Nguyen and Dexter Simmons.
