Kimberly Lynette Morales, age 62, of Shelbyville, passed from this life on September 27, 2024, at Vanderbilt-Bedford Hospital.
Kimberly was born on September 7, 1962, in Lewisburg. She was a daughter of the late James Billy Cobb and Mary Elizabeth Watkins Cobb. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rafael E. Morales; and son, Shannon Dale Prosser.
Kimberly dedicated much of her life to caring for others in her professional role as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a career she pursued from 1991 to 2011 until she was unable due to her health. She had worked with various healthcare facilities; such as, Glen Oaks Health and Rehab, Lynchburg Nursing Center, and Riverbend Maximum Security Institution.
She was known for her loving and caring nature, a trait that endeared her to all who knew her. She held an associate's degree in science, which underpinned her career in healthcare, providing a foundation for her skillful and compassionate service to her patients.
She was a very present grandmother; she was always there to support her grandchildren in whatever they were doing, and she always put others first before herself.
Beyond her professional life, Kimberly had a passion for arts and crafts. She found joy and relaxation in making wreaths and garden gnomes, each piece a reflection of her creativity and love.
She is survived by daughter, Jennifer Bates and husband, Jamie, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Tylar Prosser, Kelbie Prosser, Jaylenn, and Bryce Brown, Jacob Bates, Shayla Prosser; great grandchildren, Knox Prosser, Briley Prosser, Wrenley Carballoso, and one soon to arrive, Baker Brown. She is also survived by sister Lisa Ray of Shelbyville; along with two nephews and one niece.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the chapel of Doak Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Rasnick officiating. Visitation will be held prior to memorial service beginning at 4:00 PM On Thursday, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or New Destiny Dog Rescue.
