Margaret Ann Spence, age 93, formerly of the Deason community, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, under the loving care and comfort of her family, Adoration Hospice, and the dedicated and caring staff of Life Care Center of Hickory Woods.
Funeral services were 12 PM Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Darryl Lewis officiated, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family received visitors 10 AM until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born November 28, 1930, in the Deason Community of Bedford County, to the late William Faulkner Spence and Mattie Hughes Spence. She retired from Regions Bank, formerly known as First National Bank, after 40 years of service. She enjoyed all sports. She watched golf, football, (knew all the players for Southeastern Conference teams), baseball (especially the Atlanta Braves) and basketball.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Spence, and a sister-in-law, Donna Clanton Spence.
Survivors include two brothers, Jimmy (Elena) Spence, of Smyrna, and Bobby (Betty) Spence of Alabama; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Aunt Ann would be honored with memorials to Fairlane Church of Christ.
