Martha McGuire Fritz, age 80, of Bell Buckle went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 20, 2021, at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Osterhaus officiating. Burial will follow in the Pressgrove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 noon. Family requests that masks be worn and social distancing practices be implemented during all services.

Funeral service for Martha McGuire Fritz, age 80, of Bell Buckle, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Osterhaus officiating. Burial will follow in the Pressgrove Cemetery. Mrs. Fritz went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 20, 2021, at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital.

Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Family requests that masks be worn and social distancing practices be implemented during all services.

Martha was born February 15, 1940, in Nashville, TN to the late Joe E. and Helen Flowers McGuire and was preceded in death by: son, Gordan Melton; and brother, Jerry Michael McGuire.

She was a long-time strong member of Longview Baptist Church where she was the pianist for many years. She was an avid Community High School basketball fan and enjoyed relaxing in her recliner at the end of a long day.

Survivors include: husband of 34 years, Ronald "Ron" W. Fritz of Bell Buckle; sons, Gerald (Sherry) Melton, and Greg Melton, both of Unionville; step-children, Michael (Gina) Fritz of Georgia, Amy (Dennis Crook) Fritz of Pulaski, Rebecca (Will) Lanier of Lewisburg, Julia Fritz of Tullahoma, and Aaron (Stephanie) Fritz of Georgia; brothers, Ronnie (Zaida) McGuire of Georgia and Joey McGuire of Murfreesboro; sisters, Joanne (Danny) Myracle of Alaska, and Lynn McGuire of Georgia; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.
