Mary Sue Bragg, age 98, of Shelbyville, passed from this life Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Life Care Center of Tullahoma after an extended illness, surrounded by the loving care and comfort of her family.
A native of Bedford County she was born March 4, 1924, to the late Guy and Julie Womble Prosser. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by: beloved husband, Lonnie Bragg; daughter, Carolyn Cook; step-daughter, Rose (Tommy Joe) Williams; sisters, Hester Prosser, Margie Shearin; and brothers, Harold, Red and Frank Prosser.
Mary Sue loved spending time with family and friends. She was always serving others; whether sewing garments, quilting, cooking home cooked meals, baking fresh bread and frying the best peach pies in the world. She enjoyed sunny days working in her garden and leisure days traveling; those were her favorite pastimes. She was a longtime member of Shiloh Church and will be missed by her family and friends very much.
She is survived by: children, Charlie (Jane) Haskins, Connie (Larry) Cooke, son-in-law, Billy Cook, grandkids; Billy Ray (Stephanie) Cook, Laura (Darrick) Fisher, Kelly (Edwin) Holt, Mary Margaret (Trey) Hooks, Sally (Brian) Redd, Charles (Jennie) Haskins, Elizabeth Cooke, Sue (Sam) Taylor, Luke Williams; along with thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and sisters, Grace Clanton, Shirley Robert and Polly Dodson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Shiloh Church with Ed Perryman officiating. Burial will follow at Wheel Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon at the church.
