Robert Carol Jones III died Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital after an extended illness.
A gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate his life from 4-7 p.m Sunday at Doak-Howell Funeral Home.

A gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate the life of Robert Carol Jones III Sunday, November 29, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home. Mr. Jones passed from this life Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital after an extended illness.
A native of Bedford County, Robert was the son of the late Robert C. Jones, II and Helen Marie Gibson Jones and is preceded in death by wife, Joyce Ann Jones.
Robert was a 1964 graduate of Shelbyville Central High School and graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. He worked as a contractor, building houses for 20 years and finished his career in residential and commercial concrete management. He attended Head of Hurricane Baptist Church and was a member of the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren.
He is survived by: Daughter, Nichole (Tracy) Thompson of Hillsboro; son, Andy R. (Heather) Jones of Unionville; grandchildren, Hollie Thompson, Jensie (Kenneth) Ramsey, Jacob Hoss Jones, Ruth Ann Jones, and Hadley Bell Jones; also great-granddaughter, Macie Ann Qualkinbush.
