Robert Louis Sanford Jr., 74, of Murfreesboro, TN., passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at Quality Center Rehabilitation following a brief illness.
Robert honorably served his country in the United States Army before dedicating his professional life to Holly Farms and Tyson Foods. He was a devoted and hardworking man who deeply valued his family, loyalty and the simple joys of life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Misty Dawn Sanford Parker; his parents, Robert Louis Sanford Sr., and Jewell Sanford; his brothers, Mikel Sanford and W.C. Sanford
and his sister, Ada Rasberry.
He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Tracy Sanford, his son, Russell Sanford; his grandsons, Andrew Jayden Thompson and Nolan Schmiede and his granddaughters, Riley Padgett, Jacey Parker, Skylar Sanford, Simon Sanford and Mabel Sanford. He also has 4 precious great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Vada Skelton, Betty Byrd, Geeter Pyburn, Linda Adams, Jeanie Sanford and his brother, David Sanford.
Robert's life was further enriched by the meaningful presence of Suzan Sanford, Donna Sanford and Terrie Dyer Stone, each of whom held a special place in his heart and remained an important part of his life's journey.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held.
His ashes will be scattered on a lake in Texas where he spent his childhood and created many of his most cherished memories. He will be remembered with love and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
