Samuel Stephen Kennedy passed away peacefully on January 18th, 2024. His loving wife, Jo Ann, predeceased him a month earlier. Sam was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 11, 1940. At a young age his family moved to Shelbyville, where he had an ideal childhood near horses and the Duck River. Sam served briefly in the Army but his passion had always been the gambling business. Starting off in backroom poker games around Nashville, then onto a successful career of counting cards in Las Vegas, opening a casino and Iran and then working in all kinds of positions for decades in Las Vegas casinos. The stories will be missed but the memories will live on.
There will be no service. His ashes will be returned to a cherished spot near his boyhood home.
