MANCHESTER — It was a tough afternoon for the Shelbyville Central tennis squads, dropping two matches at Coffee County.
On the girls side of the match, Coffee County claimed a 5-2 win over the Eaglettes, while the Red Raiders took a clean sweep from the Eagles.
For the girls, Rachel Phillips provided the lone singles victory at the No. 5 seed, outlasting Emma Fulks, 5-2.
Emma Habel nearly had another singles victory for the Eaglettes, but dropped a grueling, 9-7 decision.
Vivian Fernandez, along with Habel, claimed the only doubles victory for Shelbyville Central, outlasting Katie Lawrence and Fulks, 8-6.
On the boys’ side of the match, it was just a tough afternoon.
Jackson Benson, Justin Spence and Addison Wilson all fell, 8-2 in singles action.
Coffee County claimed three separate 8-0 decisions between singles and doubles matches.
Shelbyville will return home, beginning Tuesday, for the final four matches of the regular season, all of which will be played at H.V. Griffin Park.
