A 15-year-old boy was sprayed in the face with chemical spray after allegedly physically resisting arrest attempts by two Bedford County deputies Tuesday afternoon, a sheriff's office report said.

Law enforcement had been called after the boy allegedly punched his father 10 times in the chest and shoulder areas at an Avalon Drive home.

The boy had allegedly locked himself in his room and barricaded the door with a chair when deputies arrived, and ordered them several times to leave. He eventually opened the door with a pocket knife in hand and ordered the deputies not to come near him.

After a while the boy dropped the knife but began "fighting" deputies Tylar Prosser and Tim Fox as they attempted to handcuff him.

"We went to the ground and he refused to put his hands behind his back," Fox's report said. "At this point I sprayed him in the face area with Freeze + P chemical spray and Deputy Prosser finished putting handcuffs on him."

The youth was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of domestic assault and resisting arrest. He was held overnight at Bedford County Juvenile Detention Center pending a Juvenile Court hearing Wednesday.

**Rape charges

A $1 million bond was set for a Shelbyville man charged with four counts of rape of a child Tuesday.

Alvaro Misael Cinto Cinto, 24, Quarry Street, allegedly committed the acts against an 11-year-old relative over a period of several months, Detective Sgt. Sam Jacobs said,

The investigation is incomplete, Jacobs said.

**Drugs found

A crunching sound alerted a Bedford County jailer to illegal drugs inside a sock belonging to an incoming DUI suspect Tuesday.

Victor Keyonta Taylor, 33, of Tollgate Road was reported to police as driving recklessly on Lane Parkway and was found moments later at a West Lane Street home with an unconscious woman in his car's passenger seat. The woman and Taylor were both "drifting in and out of consciousness" and taken to Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital for treatment, police said.

Taylor was medically cleared and initially arrested for third offense DUI, driving on a revoked license and violation of the implied consent law.

The sock was checked as Taylor was being booked into Bedford County Jail and several unprescribed pills were discovered by the jailer, Officer Clint Adams' report said. Charges of introduction of contraband into a penal institution and possession of schedule II, IV and legend drugs were added. He was held on $7,500 bond.

-Several items were stolen from a shop building behind a Warners Bridge Road home Tuesday, according to the Bedford County Sheriff's Office.

Former residents of the building who were recently told to vacate are listed as suspects.

The victims named a suspect known to them.

A suspect identified as Robert Mannahan was charged with shoplifting after allegedly attempting to remove a watch from his box, conceal it and leave the Shelbyville Walmart without paying Tuesday, a Shelbyville police report said.
