Mary Catherine Faulkner Talley, 91, of Shelbyville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Robert Talley (Deborah) of Cleveland, Tennessee, James Lee Talley (Carola) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Michael Talley (Jen) of Olathe, Kansas; her sisters, Frances Hayes and Sue Cates; her brother Brooks Faulkner (Vickie), all of Shelbyville; three grandsons, three granddaughters and eight great-great-granddaughters. Her family brought immense joy to her life. Catherine cherished the time she spent with her sons, grandchildren great grandchildren and her large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, CMSgt. Retired James Donald Talley USAF and her parents, Leonard and Ruth Faulkner.
Born and raised in Bedford County, Catherine and her husband traveled the world for 30 years with the U.S. Air Force. After his retirement they returned to Shelbyville and worked for Hayes Instrument.
Catherine attended First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville before moving to Celebration Way, where she remained active with church services and Bible studies. She was involved with several local clubs, including Square Dancing, Women's Club, FCE, EGA, ANG and several other groups and/or guilds.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, followed by a graveside
service at Three Forks Cemetery in Bedford County with the Rev. Jeff Faulk officiating. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer Association, Dementia Research or the charity of your choice.
