At the end of this school year, Dr. Tammy Garrett, school superintendent for the last 5 years, will leave her Bedford County office. She is retiring June 1, at the end of her contract.

TN Court of Appeals heard oral arguments today from attorneys representing the City of Shelbyville and Bedford County Government. While the City won its case in lower court last year, the County filed the appeal to further try to retain the local option sales tax revenue which it says is necessary for local education.
