Shelbyville Central has hired a long-time veteran high school coach to lead the Golden Eagle baseball program. Chase Jones was named the head coach at Shelbyville Central this week. Jones had a successful run at Coffee County from 2002-2012, winning 225 games during that time... more
TSSAA Board of Control unanimously approved Shelbyville Central and Franklin County's appeal for being ineligible for the playoffs in the 2021 season. Both programs showed what they've done in the community along with other items. Both programs were placed on restrictive probation for the 2020 and 2021 season, which ruled both teams ineligible for the TSSAA playoffs, following an incident between the teams on the field during the regular season last year... more

Abby Faith Cheeseman, rising ninth grader, claimed state champion and runner-up honors at the 2021 TSSAA State Track and Field High School Meet at Rockvale High School on May 26. Cheeseman won the Div. II-A 3200-meters with a time of 10:51.57 and was runner-up in the 1600-meters with a time of 5:06.58... more

Shelbyville Central High School will officially name the Rick Insell Gymnasium in a ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5. Insell built the Golden Eaglettes into a national powerhouse during his 28 seasons as head coach. Shelbyville posted a 775-149 record during Insell's tenure, winning a record 10 TSSAA Class AAA championships. SIGNAL MOUNTAIN - A season that saw the Community Vikings appear in the school's first ever region game ended Tuesday night as the Signal Mountain Eagles shut out the Vikings 5-0 in the Region 3-A soccer semifinals.
