SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles (14-0, 10-0) took down the District 6-AA foe Lincoln County, 6-1, while the Eaglettes (6-8, 6-4) fell, 6-1.
In the girls’ doubles matches, Lilly Smith and Lydia Yoes came up short against Chloe Gibson and Maelee Robertson, 8-5, on Court One. On Court Two, Evony Smith and Jackie Juarez took down Aubree Howell and Saylor Hancock, 8-6, but Morales and Georgia Frazier came up shy against Ellie Davis and Hadley Hardin, 8-5, to give the doubles’ point to Lincoln County.
In the singles’ matches, Lilly Smith was unable to keep pace with Chloe Gibson, 8-2, on Court One, Yoes fell short against Robertson, 8-1, on Court Two, and Evony Smith fell to Davis, 8-5, on Court Three. On Court Four, Juarez was outlasted by Howell, 8-6, Fraizer was beat by Hancock, 8-2, on Court Five, but Jade Tolar came up with the lone point for the Eaglettes following an 8-2 win on Court Six over Hardin.
For the boys’ doubles, Henry Stone and Tucker Johnson took down Zaki Lin and William Thomas, 8-2, on Court One. On Court Two, Carter Watson and Tanner Johnson secured the doubles’ point with an 8-2 win over Nate Robinson and Cade Kimbrough while Daniel Hernandez and Ryan Jaykus outlasted Grant Quick and Isaiah Maves, 8-5, on Court Three.
In the singles’ matches, Stone took down Lin, 8-2, on Court One, Tucker Johnson made quick work of Maves, 8-1, on Court Two, and Watson took down Robinson, 8-3, on Court Three. On Court Four, Tanner Johnson raced past Thomas, 8-2, Daniel Hernandez fell to Kimbrough, 8-6, on Court Five, and Jaykus took down Quick with ease, 8-1, on Court Six.
Shelbyville Central travels to Franklin County on Tuesday, Apr. 21 at 3:00 p.m. before District Tournament play begins on Wednesday, Apr. 22.
