SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles (13-0, 9-0) and Eaglettes (6-7, 6-3) both took down Lawrenceburg with relative ease, 6-1 and 6-1, in District 6-AA play on Tuesday.
In the girls’ doubles, Lilly Smith and Lydia Yoes outlasted Ella Golden and Sydney Smith, 8-4, on Court One. On Court Two, Evony Smith and Jackie Juarez fell to MyKah Hughes and Brayke Hawn, 8-6, but Georgia Frazier and Morales secured the doubles point with an 8-2 win on Court Three over Carloni Sanders and Allie Carlton.
In the singles matches, Lilly Smith blew past Hughes, 8-0, on Court One, Yoes came up short against Golden, 8-5, on Court Two, and Evony Smith overcame Sydney Smith, 8-5, on Court Three. On Court Four, Juarez outlasted Sanders, 8-6, Jade Tolar took down Carlton, 8-1, on Court Five, and on Court Six, Frazier outlasted Annsley Brashier, 8-6.
In the boys’ doubles, Henry Stone and Tucker Johnson fended off Kingston Dale and Haden Hanley, 9-7, on Court One. On Court Two, Carter Watson and Tanner Johnson outlasted Ichira Matsuo and Yako Arredondo, 9-7, while Daniel Hernandez and Ryan Jaykus breezed past Wyatt Gang and Willis, 8-3, on Court Three.
In the singles matches, Stone outlasted Dale, 8-6, on Court One, Tucker Johnson took down Matsuo, 8-4, on Court Two, and Watson beat Gang, 8-4, on Court Three. On Court Four, Tanner Johnson fell to Hanley, 8-6, but Hernandez took down Breyer Bain, 8-3, on Court Five while Jaykus outlasted Arredondo, 9-7, on Court Six.
Shelbyville Central holds Senior Night on Thursday in a District 6-AA tussle with Lincoln County at 3:30 p.m.
