Unionville Native, Webb School Soccer Star Emily Fisher Signs With Albany State

BELL BUCKLE, Tenn. – BELL BUCKLE, TENN. – For one group of Webb seniors, years of dedication to playing soccer have culminated in the opportunity to continue their athletic careers in college. This Spring, The Webb School Class of 2026 celebrated the signing of six seniors who will play soccer at the collegiate level. They include: Emily Fisher (Unionville, Tenn.), NCAA DII Albany State University; Loui Arellano (Winchester, Tenn.), NCAA DIII Keystone College; Reuben Edgecombe (Bahamas), NCAA DI Memphis University; Marcos Louzada (Brazil), Keystone College; Matheus Poubel (Brazil), NCAA DII Mississippi College; and Max Williams-Angmor (New York), NCAA DII Trevecca University.

Together, they represent a diverse and accomplished group of student-athletes eager to continue growing both academically and athletically beyond high school.

From the Bahamas and Brazil to Bell Buckle—and Beyond

From Tennessee to New York to the Bahamas—all the way to Brazil—these students developed their passion for soccer in locations around the globe, with each road eventually leading to The Webb School. And, their diverse stories share meaningful similarities, as family ties inspired many of these young players to try something new.

“I started playing soccer because my sister did,” says Fisher, who took up the sport at age six.

Throughout her time at Webb, Fisher built upon her foundation and honed her technical skills. Looking back on the significant milestones she’s achieved throughout her high school soccer career, she most appreciates the opportunity to “step up and be a leader.”

Guided By Coaches, Grounded in Community

Fisher recognizes the role her coaches played in their growth and expresses gratitude for the many mentors who always believed in her and pushed her to stay positive. Her reflections underscore the importance of community in achieving one's aspirations.

She notes that community support extends beyond the Athletics Department at Webb. “Webb has prepared me for what’s next by providing me with great facilities and college-prep connections,” says Fisher, whose academic goals include engineering, business and psychology.

Regardless of her journey or final destination, Fisher—like her male counterparts—sends a common message to younger players with aspirations to follow a similar path. She encourages them never to quit, even amid challenges. “The path isn't easy for anyone, and it won't be for you, but if you don't give up on yourself and your dream, you can accomplish anything you want,” she says.

This year’s signing class of 12 soccer, golf, and baseball athletes reflects The Webb School’s commitment to developing student-athletes who are prepared to excel at the next level. For these seniors, athletics is about more than competition; it’s an opportunity to connect with their community and grow as lifelong leaders.
