The Community Viqueens’ volleyball campaign came to a close on Tuesday against Cumberland County, 3-1, at Murfreesboro Central Magnet’s gymnasium.

This season saw the Viqueens finish 18-9 (8-2) to clinch winning 15 or more games for the 5th consecutive year, and also saw the program bring home hardware for the second straight season.

Community came back to beat Cascade, 3-1, on their home floor in the District 8-AA semifinal to set up a matchup with Murfreesboro Central Magnet in the District Championship game. Despite falling to the Lady Tigers three sets to one, the Viqueens brought home the silver Runners-Up plaque to have something to show for a very successful district season yet again.

Against the Lady Jets of Cumberland County, the Viqueens managed to win one set, but ultimately fell in the fourth of five sets after Cumberland was able to take control of the momentum late.

Gracie Daniel led Community with six kills on the night, and also contributed defensively with nine digs. Daniel also finished with three aces. Powerful Outside Hitter Izzy Martinez finished with five kills, six digs, and also added an ace.
